Élise portrait

Hello, and welcome. I'm Élise.

I began this journal in autumn 2009, during my first year living abroad in Stockholm. What started as a way to share photographs with friends and family back home has evolved over the years into a personal archive — an archive of the life I've created in Europe, one quiet moment at a time.

I was born in a small town in the south of France, but I've never been very good at staying in one place. Throughout my life, Paris, Copenhagen, and Stockholm have been home. Today, I live in a small apartment in the old town, surrounded by books, houseplants, and far too many vintage ceramics.

"To me, the best kind of life is one where you pay attention to the small things — the way morning light falls through a window, the first sip of coffee, the sound of rain on cobblestones."

I'm a freelance translator by day and occasional writer. In the evenings (and most weekends), I'm wandering flea markets, preparing elaborate meals for friends, and curled up with a novel and a glass of wine.

This blog is an attempt to document the things I love: slow travel, thoughtful interiors, simple fashion, good food, and the art of living well without rushing. I prefer quality over quantity, invest time in things that last, and like to take the time to truly see the places I inhabit.

Thank you for being here. I hope you'll stay a while.

With warmth,
Élise
